The head coach of the national football team of Ukraine Oleh Blokhin believes that even if Ukrainians failed in the game against England, our team should "not hide head in the sand," he told a pre-match press conference in Donetsk yesterday evening.

He praised the professionalism of the English footballers, stressing that the Ukrainians have to win in the upcoming game, but since our team is young, the fans have to support it regardless of the result.

"The Englishmen are the team-oriented players, who well perform the game plan. And although everyone says that its players are tired, I have not noticed that. I think this team is one of the Euro 2012 leaders. If we beat them, they would have more problems than we would, because they are considered to be the favorites. The failure for them is not to play in the Euro finals," the coach said.

Moreover, Blokhin added: "For us, the most important thing is to show a good game. The outcome is a quite different issue. We have nothing to lose, we need to win only. But even in case of failure, I do not think we need to hide our head in the sand. We have built a new team, a young team. People should support us."

Blokhin cited the example of the Poland's national team, which players came out to their fans after losing.

"I respect the Polish team, who came to its fans after the defeat. People will respect this team through foul and fair. I think even if we failed, my guys would answer all the questions," Blokhin.
As reported, the group D match England-Ukraine will be held on June 19 at the Donbass Arena stadium at 9:45 p.m. Kyiv time.
