The EU not to participate in the gas talks between Russia and Ukraine, the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira said during the EU Sustainable Energy Week opening ceremony, ForUm correspondent reports.
He reminded that in 2009 Ukraine and Russia signed the gas contract, and now the EU will not interfere in the gas talks between the two countries.
At the same time, Teixeira confirmed that the EU is ready to take part in a trilateral gas consortium to manage the Ukrainian gas-transport system.
As a reminder, Kyiv and Moscow are negotiating on the consideration of these contacts in order to reduce the price of Russian gas. As of today, the parties have failed to reach any results.
