The number of tax inspections has reduced considerably in Ukraine, while the situation with VAT refund has improved, head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Klymenko said at a meeting with French ambassador to Ukraine Alan Remy.

The official specified that as of today there are more than 700 French companies working in Ukraine. According to him, in 2011 the tax services conducted 11 scheduled inspections, while in 2012 there has been only three.

As for VAT refund, Klymenko informed that in 2010 there were VAT reclaims at the amount of 94.9 million hryvnias with only 32 million refunded, while in 2011 there were 92 million with already 73 million refunded.

"As for this year, the sum is quite surprising. With 21 million hryvnias of reclaims we have refunded 84.8 million," he said and added "there are no delays with VAT refund and none is expected."

After the meeting the official told journalists that the State Tax Service had paid off all debts in VAT refund. "As of today we do not have debts, only legal investigations. We have 53.3 billion hryvnias waiting to be checked out and 14 billion hryvnias being considered in courts," Klymenko summed up.
