The Antimonopoly committee of Ukraine has recommended "MTS" and "Kyivstar" mobile operators to reduce tariffs to economically grounded level.

In its statement the committee points out that in 2012 these operators have increased tariffs for a number of services. In particular, "Kyivstar" has increased charges for certain tariff plans by 25%, for SMS - by 28% and for MMS - by 33%. "MTS" in its turn has increased fees for SMS by 22%, for MMS by 20%, for calls within the net by 50% and for calls to other operators by 20%.

"Such price increased does not follow the actual growth rate for goods and services in Ukraine, which means there are no economic grounds to introduce such tariff changes," the statement reads.

The Antimonopoly committee has ordered to reduce tariffs to economically grounded level within 15 days.
