A Center for stray animals has been opened in Kharkiv, press office of the Ecology Ministry reports.
Minister Eduard Stavitski noted in the Center the stray animals would be taken care of by caring staff and would have an opportunity to find a home.
"I assure you the Ministry will continue humane policy regarding stray animals problem," he declared.
The total area of the Center makes 1.7 hectares. The Center is engaged into catching stray animals and keeping them on the territory until animals find permanent home. The Center accepts animals from owners if they cannot or do not want to keep animals any longer. The Center also accepts animals, confiscated by court decisions.
