Gazprom has transferred two billion dollars of advanced payment for gas transit to Naftogaz account. Naftogaz in its turn has speeded up the pumping of Russian gas into underground storages, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller told the press.

"We have transferred two billion dollars so they can speed up the pumping into underground storages. I believe we will be having a meeting with Yuri Boiko (Energy minister) and Naftogaz CEO (Evgeniy) Bakulin soon to clarify how they are going to pump the gas," Miller said, according to RIA Novosti.

As reported, Gazprom doubted Ukraine's financial capacity to pump necessary gas amount into its storage facilities for further transit to Europe and proposed to conclude a 2-billion-dollar down-payment agreement.
