Currently, only 47% of beaches out of the total scheduled number are opened in Ukraine, the head of the State Sanitary-Epidemiological Station of Ukraine Viktor Liashko told a briefing.

According to him, 481 out of 1015 beaches are working. Lyashko said that currently eight beaches in Crimea, Mykolaiv and Odessa regions are closed due to violations. He added that the other beaches are not open due to "lack of preparation for the season and the lack of permits."

Lyashko stressed that the water samples revealed a deviation from the norm only in the rivers. He said that currently in Mariupol it is not allowed to swim in two areas of one sea-beach.

According to him, out of eleven Kyiv beaches and recreation areas on the Dnipro, five beaches do not have official permits. According to him, "only six beaches have passports – the Dytyachyi (Children’s) in Hydropark area, the Veneciya (Venice), the Molodizhnyi (Youth), the Veselka  (Rainbow) and the Telbin on the lakes in Dniprovsky district and the Cheotoryi in the Druzhby Narodiv (Friendship of Peoples) Park in Desnyansky district.
