The Agency for refinancing mortgage loans can post the debut issue of mortgage bonds of 0.5 billion hryvnia in June. The funds, obtained through the Agency, can be used by banks for issuing new mortgage loans at more affordable rates, the chairman of board of Oschadbank Serhyi Podrezov informed.
"We expect that in June we will have the first disbursement - about 500 million. We also hope that the regulator will provide some benefits for these securities for they have substantial demand. The benefits may include accounting in legal reserves and others," the top manager of Oschadbank said.
According to Podrezov, the funds received from issuing the mortgage bonds may be directed at the implementation of the program on granting mortgage loans at 3%.
As reported, the Agency for refinancing mortgage loans was established earlier this year at the initiative of the NBU Oschadbank (70.85%), Ukreximbank, Ukrgasbank and the Kyiv bank (29.15% for three). The Agency’s authorized capital amounted to 35 million hryvnia. The Agency is to deal with issuing the mortgage bonds at pools of mortgage loans referred to it by the commercial banks. The Agency shall transfer the obtained funds to the bank partner, who will use them for issuing new loans.
