Over two years, Ukraine had spent 40 billion USD on the implementation of the infrastructure projects related to the Euro-2012 football championship, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said during the meeting with expert economists to discuss import substitution, ForUm correspondent reports.
“Why do I say that in two years we have spent more than in twenty? I say so because we did not direct 40 million UAH at the infrastructure development in twenty years. It is our first experience of such a large investment in this area,” Azarov said.
Moreover, according to him, Ukraine should not slow down, as “investing in infrastructure is investing in our future”.
