The President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Michel Platini believes that the current European football championship is the most "difficult" one in terms of organization as compared to the previous ones. However, he is sure that Ukraine and Poland have coped with the task.

The UEFA President expressed his belief that the championship will be successful. "This will be a great event, a very good European Championship. The stadiums in Poland and Ukraine are excellent. The atmosphere will be perfect," he said.

In addition, Platini said that the Ukrainians should be especially proud of hosting the championship, despite the unfavorable political and other difficulties.

The UEFA President stated that the infrastructure built within the preparation for the championship is to improve the quality of life in Ukraine, noting that without Euro 2012 it would have been built 20 or 30 years later.

"Nothing will be removed after the matches are over. This is a great strength of football, which had already helped Germany and France," Platini added.

He also expressed his belief that Ukraine and Poland have earned the right to host the European Football Championship. Platini noted that Ukrainian and Polish infrastructure, the worse in comparison with the more developed countries, will further the interest of fans.

As a reminder, Euro 2012 matches will be held in four Polish and four Ukrainian cities starting from June 8 till July 1. In general, Ukraine will host 16 matches out of 31.
