The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych thanked members of the Interagency working group for monitoring the observance of freedom of speech and journalists' rights for their efficient work, ForUm learned from the President’s press office.
"I am grateful to all the participants of the working group for the objective and fruitful work on the issues raised," the President said meeting with the mass media workers, held on the Journalist day.
Yanukovych said that due to the activity of the Interagency working group, he is aware of all the matters concerning obstruction of journalists' professional activity in Ukraine.
"We can improve the situation. It would benefit the journalists, the society and the President," the head of the state said. He also added that the Prosecutor General's Office is always to respond to violations of media rights.
