The EU Association Agreement is not to be signed until the parliamentary elections are over, the economic development and trade minister of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko told a Cabinet’s briefing, as ForUm correspondent reports.

"There is absolutely consensual position of the European Parliament that there are three components needed to sign the agreement: technical work, which is to be completed before the summer holidays, the decision of the EU Council and the decision of the European Parliament. The consensual position of the EU assumes that Ukraine should hold fair elections, as it is an absolutely necessary condition for the agreement signing," he said.

Basing on this, Poroshenko noted that the parties will proceed to the signing of the Association Agreement immediately upon the elections.
