The final preparations for Euro 2012 are not the reason for terminating the infrastructure development programs, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said during his visit to the reconstructed road junction on the Paton Bridge in Kyiv, ForUm correspondent reported.

According to him, certain programs, such as the reconstruction of railways and highways, airports, the introduction of high-speed railway traffic, are designed for many years.

"Only in Kyiv the large Podolsky-Voskresensky bridge crossing is being constructed, the junctions and the city road communications are to continue being constructed and renovated. Another promising bridge-road project is the completion of the small ring road around Kyiv, which involves further construction of the southern section of the new bridge across the Dnipro River. This object is the part of one of the national investment projects, so the share of government funding should not exceed 5%,” the Prime Minister said.

In addition, the constructed facilities will be effective after the end of the championship as well. “Preparations to the Winter Olympics 2022 application procedure can become a kind of replacement for Euro-2012 in the future. We have dedicated a separate national project to this sport event. If we want to increase foreign investments, our infrastructure needs to acquire a European look and to fully meet the European standards,” the head of the Cabinet concluded.
