Soon the international law firm, invited by the Ukrainian side, will reveal their conclusions on the case of Yulia Tymoshenko, the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych told the BBC, ForUm learned from the President’s press service.
"We have invited trustworthy international experts and international lawyers, who have wealth of experience. Soon they will submit their expert opinion on the case of Tymoshenko," the President said.
In addition, he noted that Ukraine is conscious of the importance of this issue and its impact on the development of our state, including the European integration.
Responding the question about the possible release of Tymoshenko, the President noted that this issue is solely within the court’s jurisdiction.
However, Yanukovych added that Ukraine make efforts to improve the national legislation. "We have done everything for a new Criminal Procedure Code to be adopted in the shortest possible time. The Code was agreed with experts of the Council of Europe and they estimated it positively. I have signed the Code and it will come into force in November this year," he said.
