The CIS economies are undergoing modernization, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov stated at the Cabinet’s meeting on Thursday, as ForUm correspondent reports.

Azarov believes that the economies of the CIS countries have more prospects than the EU economy on the whole. “While Europe is in the state of recession and is failing to emerge from a debt crisis, the CIS market has being growing for the past two years, by 5% already. Virtually all CIS countries are carrying out economic modernizations, focusing on structural reforms based on innovational technologies,” he stressed.

Azarov also informed that the next meeting of the CIS Heads of government will be held this September in Yalta, Ukraine.
