Constitutional Assembly to sit in June

The first meeting of the Constitutional Assembly is scheduled for June 20, the Head of the Department for constitutional and legal modernization of the Presidential Administration Maryna Stavniychuk told Radio Svoboda.

She noted that such date of summoning was chosen due to the hosting of Euro 2012 and busy schedule of the President of Ukraine.

Stavniychuk also mentioned that the members of the Constitutional Assembly will be sent invitations at the beginning of June for them to plan their vacations and working schedule.

As reported, on May 17, President Viktor Yanukovych signed the Decree on the Constitutional Assembly, defining this body as the presidential subsidiary organ aiming at working out the amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine.
