Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov will discuss with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev during their meeting on May 30 the use of Russia's gas transport system to import gas from Turkmenistan to Ukraine.

As reported, an agreement was concluded on the introduction of a free trade zone in the Commonwealth of Independent States, and Ukraine insists on implementation of its provisions ensuring free access to the gas transportation systems of the CIS countries. In this context Ukraine's PM Azarov and the President of Turkmenistan discussed the volume of Turkmen gas supplies.

"We have agreed on including into the CIS free trade zone agreement a special article regulating the parties' access to the gas transportation system. We also expect that, in revision of the 2009 gas contract with respect to gas supply and its transit conditions, we will also discuss this issue with Russia's leadership. Tomorrow we will put this question to Dmytro Medvedev," Mykola Azarov said, UKRINFORM reported.
