The ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse is being delayed in Ukraine, President's aid on children's rights Yuri Pavlenko told a conference summing up the survey results on the situation.
According to the official, to make the Convention work the parliament must introduce some amendments to the legislation, but the adoption of relevant amendments is being delayed.
"We insist on urgent ratification of the given Convention by Ukraine's parliament," Pavlenko said.
In his turn, rector of Kharkiv national university of internal affairs Oleksandr Bandurka noted that among those responsible for the realization of the Convention are the Interior Ministry, Justice Ministry and Prosecutor's General Office.
