It is necessary to elaborate a set of measures to effectively protect the real economy and the social sphere of Ukraine from macroeconomic risks that currently exist in the world, President Viktor Yanukovych said at the meeting of the Council of Regions, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.
The President said that global economic situation remains very difficult and can affect Ukraine. As an example, he pointed to a slight slowdown in the growth of some industries during the first four months of this year.
"We have to talk about it openly, and, what is most important, elaborate and take all necessary measures in advance. Therefore, I expect the Government to prepare the relevant proposals ... We have to elaborate a set of measures to protect the real economy and the social sphere of Ukraine from macroeconomic risks," he said
The President added that the task of regional and local authorities in this context is to make sure that the appropriate measures are implemented at their level and work to maintain people's confidence in government policies.
