By 2015 Ukraine will have exceeded the amount of passenger air travel of 1990, vice PM and minister for infrastructure Borys Kolesnikov told a briefing in the Cabinet, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the official, the government intends to reduce prices for air travel by 30%. "We have a number of initiatives, which provide for cancellation of VAT for air travel within the country, cancellation of VAT for aviation fuel and a number of other methods. Such initiatives will enable us to have 25 million passengers annually by 2015, which is more than the figures of former Ukrainian republic in 1990," Kolesnikov said.

The minister has paid special attention to Boryspil airport, saying that on May 28 President Yanukovych will take part in the opening ceremony of terminal D. According to Kolesnikov, when the terminal D is put into operation, terminals A and B will be dismounted, as terminal D alone can provide sufficient services for airport passengers.
