Ukraine hopes that the Summit of Heads of State of Central Europe, which should have been held in Yalta on 11-12 May, will still take place, Foreign Ministry's spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov brifed the press in Kyiv on Tuesday.

"We are definitely going to consult and negotiate with our partners and hope that we will hold it [Central European summit - ed.]," he said.

At the same time Dykusarov did not name a possible date for the high-level meeting. He also recalled that the summit of Central European countries was postponed indefinitely. "It was a balanced decision," Dykusarov emphasized, UKRINFORM reports.

As reported, due to the inability of European heads of state to attend the 18th Summit of Central European states, Ukraine canceled the summit, which was scheduled for May 11-12 in Yalta.
