Moscow assures it does not obstruct activity of Ukrainian organizations
Russian authorities do not obstruct the work of Ukrainian organizations on Russian territory, official representative of Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich said commenting on the court decision to liquidate the Union of Ukrainians in Russia.

"In connection with the statement of Ukraine's FM on alleged infringement of rights of Ukrainians in Russia we believe it is necessary to state the following: the leadership of the "Union of Ukrainians of Russia" was repeatedly warned and asked to stop violating the regulations of the Russian legislation and to make some adjustments to the activity of this public structure. Our warnings were ignored," Lukashevich said.

According to the official, Moscow is surprised by Ukraine's FM's choice to defend the organization, which repeatedly violated Russian legislation. Lukashevich pointed out that any statements on alleged interfering into the activity of Ukrainian organizations in Russia are groundless.

"For now there are 35 national and cultural autonomies of Ukrainians, including newly registered autonomy of federal level "Federal national and cultural autonomy of Ukrainians of Russia", as well as eight regional and 26 local organizations, which observe the rights and interests of Ukrainians living in Russia," Lukashevich underlined.
