Successful preparation for EURO 2012 will positively influence the image of Ukraine, President Viktor Yanukovych said in an interview for the program "Evenings with Vitaliy Korotych” on the First National TV Channel, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.
"When I see these stadiums, airports, hotels, roads that are built, I understand that the respect and trust to our country in the world will definitely increase," he said.
The President recalled that several years ago, few believed that Ukraine would prepare for EURO 2012 timely and properly.
"You would not believe, how hard we were working after making the commitment to catch up with the schedule of building infrastructure for EURO 2012," he said.
"When I see these stadiums, airports, hotels, roads that are built, I understand that the respect and trust to our country in the world will definitely increase," he said.
