Leader of the Party of Regions faction Oleksandr Yefremov admitted that in its draft bill the Party of Regions proposes not to fully cancel deputy immunity, but limit it.

"We never said that we would deprive MPs of immunity. We said we would put this norm in line with legislations of civilized countries," Yefremov said at the conciliatory board meeting.

The MP explained that it would be possible to institute criminal cases against MPs and to inspect their structures and premises, but MPs would be brought to trial only on court decision and on consent of the parliament. "Such system exists in all leading European countries...And we propose to vote for this draft bill, which is halfway up and has all chances to be adopted," he added.
