Kyivski district court of Kharkiv postponed to June 25 the trial on the case against Yulia Tymoshenko on the activity of "the United Energy Systems of Ukraine" corporation, she headed in 1995-97.
Tymoshenko is accused of organizing tax evasion, theft and attempted theft of budget funds through illegal VAT refunds, official forgery and the evasion of income tax during her stay as head of the UESU corporation in the mid 1990s.
On April 18 the Court postponed the hearings on the second trial of Yulia Tymoshenko until May 21. The court decided "to consider impossible the consideration of Tymoshenko's case without her participation and scheduled the next hearings on May 21."
On May 18 the General Prosecutor's Office said the state prosecution would appeal to court to postpone the hearings again, as the defendant was in the hospital for recovery treatment.
