President Viktor Yanukovych went on a working visit to the United States Sunday. At the invitation of NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, on May 21, 2012 President Yanukovych will attend a meeting of ISAF-contributor states’ top-ranking officials in the framework of the 2012 NATO Summit in Chicago.
During the meeting its participants would discuss NATO's partnership with Afghanistan after the withdrawal of international forces from Afghanistan in 2014. The President will set forth Ukraine’s position on the NATO Strategic Plan for Afghanistan through 2014 and beyond, and inform the international community on our state’s plans of further participation in the International Security Assistance Force program.
The President is also expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings witgh the Summit participants.
