National economy growth has become the foundation for increasing citizens’ salaries, President Viktor Yanukovych said at his today’s meeting with the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Club representatives, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.
"Last year, the average salary growth was 10.5%, and this year it is 14.7% for the same period," Viktor Yanukovych said, noting that the economy of Ukraine has been growing steadily for the third consecutive year.
According to Viktor Yanukovych, during this this period, the GDP has grown significantly, the budget deficit has reduced, and the inflation rate has deceased. "We have started with the fall in GDP of more than 15%, in production of 23%, the budget deficit approaching 16%. This year, the budget deficit we expect is 2.5%," Viktor Yanukovych said.
The President stressed that the current economic situation improvement is based on the adoption of the 2010 National Plan of Action to implement the Program of Economic Reforms for 2010-2014.
