The European Union should decide where it would like to see Ukraine, foreign minister of Ukraine Konstantyn Hryshchenko said during the international debates "Ukraine-EU at the Rubicon", ForUm correspondent reports.

"They urge Ukraine to decide what side it is on: the EU or Russia. But sometimes it looks like the EU could use to decide where it wants to see Ukraine," Hryshchenko noted.

"I want to calm the EU representatives in advance: today we do not ask for membership promises. It is obvious that current European agenda is conditioned by internal factors, but external aspects still remain urgent, including Ukraine," the minister added.

According to the official, European integration remains the priority for Ukraine. "Energy and coherence we applied for the talks on Association agreement and free trade area is the best proof. The text of the document has not been agreed yet because we have been holding negotiations and adopting necessary laws, not because we have stop following the European idea. Thoseб who took part in the negotiationsб should not have any doubts in our sincerity and honesty," Hryshchenko said.

The minister believes that Ukraine has merited the Association agreement with the EU and that delays do not meet interests of either of the sides.
