Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov considers it unreasonable to oppose Ukraine's cooperation with the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union.

He said this during a meeting Thursday with members of the Ukraine-EU team of lawmakers and experts.

"Ukraine has never contrasted one economic union to another, and we cannot do so for many reasons. We are located between them and should make friends with both," Mykola Azarov said, UKRINFORM reports.

He added that the EU and EurAsEC account for almost 70% of Ukraine's foreign trade.

The Prime Minister noted that Ukraine has sealed at the legislative level both its European integration aspirations and close cooperation with the Eastern partners.

"Ukraine has defined its European integration aspirations and sealed them in the law on the fundamentals of foreign and domestic policy. And not only sealed, but over the past two years it has also done very much in this direction," the head of government said.
