A new international terminal in "Kyiv" airport (Zhuliany) has been officially opened today, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the president of the communal enterprise "International airport Kyiv" Denis Kostrzhevski, the new terminal will be used for international regular and charter flights only, while the old terminal will be used for domestic flights.

In his turn, vice PM and minister for infrastructure of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov informed that the new terminal will function by principle "point-to-point", hence will not exercise transit flights.

The minister also declared that Ukrainian government is ready to finance the construction and reconstruction of a landing strip in any Ukrainian city with population of more that 500 thousand people if investors finance the construction of a terminal.
 
The cost of the very terminal with improvement of nearby territories, including boiler house and communications, made 340 million hrynias. The total amount of investments in the project made about 400 million hryvnais.

The first flight from the new terminal is scheduled for May 22.
