The government will provide transparent and democratic elections, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov during the meeting with the leader of Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European parliament Hannes Swoboda.

"We need support of structural reforms being carried out in Ukraine, as well as support of democracy development. We need to be trusted, so I tell my fellows: it's better to lose elections that to give a reason to doubt democracy in Ukraine. But we intend to win the elections," Azarov declared during the meeting.

The sides also discussed internal political situation in Ukraine, including the situation around Yulia Tymoshenko. In this context Azarov said justice "would have been selective" only if a politician had escaped responsibly just because he or she was a Prime Minister.
