Party of Regions faction leader Oleksandr Yefremov says European countries use double standards when ask to cancel articles 364-365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of office - ed.), ForUm correspondent reports.
According to Yefremov, 1 1countries of Europe have similar articles in their legislation, but "nobody plans to cancel them." He also added that in case of cancellation of these articles state officials will go unpunished for abuse of power.
The MP also accused the opposition of "double game" for refusal to consider this week the draft bill on cancellation of deputies' immunity.
"There is no need to restart the whole procedure of consideration, as the opposition declares, but to vote for the norms, approved by the Constitutional Court, and to adopt corresponding changes to the Constitution with thee hundred votes," he said.
As reported, MP of Ukraine Serhiy Mishchenko, head of the parliamentary committee on legal policy, declares that the draft bill on deputies' immunity must be reconsidered. According to the MP, the Constitutional Court has not given clear conclusions on this draft bill, recognizing some norms as unconstitutional. Hence, the consideration procedure on the draft bill must be started from the very beginning.
