A decision on the date of Kyiv mayor election will be made this plenary session, Party of Regions faction leader Oleksandr Yefremov told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"There are five working weeks left before summer holidays in the parliament, hence a decision on the date of Kyiv mayor election will be made this plenary session," Yefremov said.

In his turn speaker of the parliament Volodymyr Lytvyn believes that the Kyiv mayor election must be held together with the parliamentary elections "in order to save budget means." Yefremov disagrees with speaker's opinion saying Kyiv mayor election must be held before the parliamentary ones.

As a reminder, parliamentary elections in Ukraine are scheduled for October 28, 2012.
