Prosecutor's General Office has held an inspection and instituted a criminal case on misuse of budget means in the process of construction of facilities in the alienation zone of Chernobyl NPP.
"The inspection has revealed that certain officials have stolen budget funds by means of increasing illegally the cost of construction works of the complex on recycling and disposal of nuclear waste," the statement of the PGO press office says.
"In particular, state officials and employees of one of the commercial structures of Kyiv region have filed false data about the cost of construction materials, machinery use and general production expenses," the statement reads.
As a result, the state has lost about three million hryvnias.
