Ecology Ministry implements satellite monitoring system

Ecology Ministry of Ukraine has implemented an automatic system of distant monitoring of land, ecology minister Eduard Stavitski told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The first stage of the project realization was monitoring of forests, which revealed illegal mass destruction," Stavitski said.

According to him, it is also planed to use the system for monitoring unauthorized landfills, water objects, construction, mining, as well as for observing natural process, erosion, floods, movements of ice and others.
