Ukraine has always been and remains a peacemaker state and a reliable partner, President Viktor Yanukovych said in his speech during Victory Day festivities at the Independence Square in Kyiv, presidential press office reports.
"The priority of European values remains unchanged for Ukraine. Our doors are open for all our partners and friends, we build bridges with new centers of growth. We form new models of effective and mutually beneficial cooperation with the CIS and EurAsEC," he said.
Historically, the fate of Ukraine is tied with the West and the East, with Europe and Russia, the President said. "On our actions, without exaggeration, depends the future of development of our continent," he said.
