Border with Ukraine and the country as a whole are very important for the European Union, head of the operation department of the EU representative office in Ukraine Andrew Zarbash declared, ForUm correspondent reports.
Four EU countries have common border with Ukraine. "US participation is of no less importance. We want to help you to keep state borders open for legal traveling, but secure and protected against all kinds of cross-border crimes," the official said.
According to him, jointly with the State Border Service of Ukraine the EU realizes the supporting program on border management with 66 million euro budget. "Border guards are on the front line on the eve of Euro-2012, and they will present Ukraine for all comers. I know it is a challenge for you, and I wish you all the best," he said.
"Sometimes the cooperation with the State Border Service we set as an example for other Ukrainian state departments. The management of this service is very well organized," the EU representative summed up.
