Acting heads of states have not been invited to the inauguration of president-elect of Russia Vladimir Putin, Russian ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov told the press.
"Guests include only retired heads of states and ambassadors. It's not a secret that among personal friends of Vladimir Putin there are former PM of Italy Silvio Berlusconi and former Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder," the official said.
Ukraine is represented by Ukrainian Ambassador to Russia Volodymyr Yelchenko. Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has congratulated Vladimir Putin on assuming office as president of the Russian Federation and wished him good health and success in his responsible state mission, as well as peace and prosperity to the Russian people.
