President Viktor Yanukovych is convinced that using the experience of Great Patriotic War veterans in the education of youth is important, he said during a conversation with veterans at the National Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.
Nowadays, said Viktor Yanukovych, the world is going through hard times: the economic situation is difficult, there is increased competition for resources and spheres of influence, populism and extremism are in politics.
"Therefore, it is so important now, in the days of celebrating another anniversary of Victory, to make the right conclusions from the lessons of the past," he said.
The President thanked the researchers, who have been collecting and studying the documents and testimonies of witnesses about the war and proliferating that knowledge for many years.
"I hope that our youth will continue the tradition of respect for the history of their people," said Viktor Yanukovych.
