The modernized system of emergency assistance introduced in the framework of healthcare reform has proven useful during the Dnipropetrovsk events. It is therefore necessary to speed up its development, President Viktor Yanukovych said at a meeting of the April 27 blasts Investigation Coordinative Staff, ForUm learned from the presidential press office.

Viktor Yanukovych welcomed the effective work of doctors, who provided timely aid to the victims of April 27 blasts thus saving lives. "This means that the system of emergency aid we are establishing in Ukraine justifies itself in such extreme conditions – it works perfectly. It needs though to be developed more quickly,” he said, referring to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Healthcare Raisa Bohatyriova.

Following the discussion President Viktor Yanukovych instructed the National Security and Defense Council to study and summarize different agencies’ experience of acting in emergency situations for later application.

“The NSDC must study and summarize all the experience gained, and use it to implement all the activities foreseen,” he said, referring to NSDC First Deputy Secretary Olexandr Medvedko.
"Given that we have EURO 2012 in front of us, we must consider all the ‘bottlenecks’ possible, estimate them, and do the necessary work in a short time," the President added.
