The opposition will not allow the newly elected Verkhovna Rada Ombudsman Valeria Lutkovska to swear into office, vice speaker Mykola Tomenko told a press briefing.
"We will not allow Lutkovska's swearing; we will wait for the findings of the commission, which will have its say about the legitimacy of her election," he said,UKRINFORM reports.
According to Tomenko, on behalf of the united opposition, an appeal was filed with the Verkhovna Rada Chairman on establishment of a commission to verify the legality and legitimacy of electing Valeria Lutkovska to the post of Commissioner for Human Rights. The vice-speaker believes that there were "serious violations in the election process."
