The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is planning to consider a number of documents at its meeting on Wednesday, which will promote speeding up of solving an issue on spot purchases of gas from Germany, Economic Development and Trade Minister Petro Poroshenko has said.

“Today, a number of decisions will be discussed, which will promote speeding up of this process. In the meantime, Ukraine is in the process of preparation, normative and technical preparation,” he said commenting on possibility of gas export from Germany, UKRINFORM reports.

Poroshenko underscored that the matter does not concern substantial cheapening of gas, however, the matter concerns ensuring diversification of supplies.

“The more we have sources, which will ensure coming of gas to Ukraine from spot markets, the easier will be the negotiation position with our main strategic partner - Russia,” the Minister said.

According to him, German gas under the current economic situation will be cheaper against Russian and will be purchased at a spot price, which fluctuates from USD 250 to USD 350 for 1,000 cu m.

As reported, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has said in an interview to German newspaper Die Welt that NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine conducts negotiations with German energy concern RWE about import of Russian gas from Europe to Ukraine in the reserve regime, which will be cheaper against the gas purchase directly from Russia.
