From May 1, 2012 13 million 300 thousand Ukrainians will get increased pensions. Such initiative is stipulated in the resolution "On social protection of population", adopted by the Cabinet on April 23, ForUm learned from the Cabinet's press office.
The resolution has been adopted following the social initiatives of the President of Ukraine and the initiative itself is financed by the state budget, amendments to which have come into force.
According to the government's decision, pensions are increased by 100 hryvnias minimum.
"In such a way the government carries out the aggiornamento of pensions and increases the level of social protection and social provision of vulnerable categories of the population. At the same time, unfortunately, it is impossible to increase pensions for people, who do not have working experience and did not pay dues to the Pension Fund. This category of the population receives the so-called social pension, and its increase will be carried out along with the increase of minimal pension, which happens routinely," the Cabinet says.
