The conditions in a clinic proposed by the Ukrainian authorities for the treatment of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko are meeting all standards, Head of the Charite Clinic Karl Max Einhaupl, who visited the ex-premier last week, said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, UKRINFORM reported.

"It's obvious that the Ukrainian authorities are making great efforts. We visited Ukrzaliznytsia's hospital, which offers great opportunities, both personal and technical. This meets all standards," he said, when asked whether he considered it possible to treat Tymoshenko in a Ukrainian hospital.

He said that Tymoshenko, who, according to the doctor, has a "spinal hernia," cannot receive in prison the necessary treatment, "which would put her on her feet."

Meanwhile, the relatives of the former prime minister would like Tymoshenko to be treated in Germany. "The Charite Clinic is ready to receive Ms. Tymoshenko for treatment. She would certainly have been able to fully recover in our clinic," Einhaupl said.
