Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has all grounds to believe that Ukrainian citizens detained in Libya will released from custody, Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dykusarov told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the official, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry received a letter from Tripoli with promising information. "On the territory of one of revolutionary bases Ukrainian diplomats organized celebration of Easter for detained Ukrainians with participation of heads of Ukrainian and Belarusian diplomatic missions, representative of Ukrainian Orthodox Church and one of the Libyan fighters of the rebel brigade, as well as journalists," Dykusarov told.

"At the beginning of the celebration the Libyan fighter delivered a speech, during which he expressed a hope that after the trial Ukrainian detainees will go home," the official added.
According to Dykusarov, such statement is very important, as it is the first time the Libyan side expresses such position.

The official also informed that in an interview with local TV the head of the rebel brigade confirmed that Ukrainians were not snipers and did not take direct part in the war. "The fighter also added that he considered Ukrainians as his guests, who would soon go home," Dykusarov told.
