NATO will allocate Ukraine 25 million euro for disposition of small arms and ammunition, deputy defense minister Dmytro Plyatsuk told the press, ForUm correspondent reports.

Ukraine in the name of Defense Ministry signed a three-sided agreement on disposition of ammunition and small arms with NATO agency NAMSA and Ukrainian enterprises-executors of the works.

The agreement stipulates for disposition of 76 thousand tons of ammunition, including three million antipersonnel mines and 366 thousand units of light weapons and small arms, unserviceable and dangerous to store.

The term of works is 3-4 years, and the total cost of works is 48 million euros, 25 million of which US allocates to Ukraine within the cooperation program with NATO.

According to Plyatsuk, the metal obtained from melting will be auctioned among Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises, and the money will be sent to a special fund of the Defense Ministry to use for other weapon disposition programs.
