Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted the Criminal Procedure Code. On the night of Thursday/Friday 271 MPs out of 283 registered in the session hall voted for the draft Code.
In addition, MPs have passed a law on amendments to a number of laws in connection with the adoption of the Criminal Procedure Code with 272 votes in favour.
According to the procedure, MPs had to vote on every amendment. The total number of amendments submitted to the draft Criminal Procedure Code was about four thousand.
