90% of facts declared by Ukrainian mass media about violations and abuse of power in Kyiv detention facility have not been proved, general lieutenant of the internal service Oleksandr Lisitskov told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The internal department of the State penitentiary service in Kyiv region has held an investigation. All results have been delivered to the prosecutor's office. The department is investigating the facts, covered by the press, TV and internet. For the moment 90% of these facts have not been confirmed," the official said.
According to Lisitskov, the investigation has not confirmed the fact that officials of the detention facility can deliver mobile phones to detainees for a certain sum of money.
The general lieutenant also denied information that officials of the detention facility can be bribed in exchange for a cell with better living conditions.
