A court in Italy has released the head of the Kharkiv regional branch of the Batkivshchyna Party Arsen Avakov from custody, head of the BYT-Batkivshchyna faction in parliament Andriy Kozhemyakin announced from the parliament's rostrum on Thursday.
Prosecutor's General Office confirms the information on Avakov's release from custody, PGO spokesman Yuri Boichenko has declared.
"We've learned by phone that the court has released Avakov. Nevertheless, the extradition procedure continues," the official added.
