Speaking at a meeting with public organizations and experts on population employment Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov informed he had charged vice PM Serhiy Tihipko with developing a draft bill on employment and with holding public discussions on this document, ForUm correspondent reports.

"I have charged Tihipko with developing a draft bill on population employment and with holding public discussions on this project. Only after we reach public consensus this draft bill will be submitted to the government and later delivered to the parliament," Azarov said.

Azarov said that for the moment the low level of employment in Ukraine suppresses economic growth. According to the PM, for the years of crisis Ukraine has lost two million job places, and in addition, the number of active population able to work has come up to the number of pensioners in the country.

"This does not allow us to solve questions of social provision for those in need. We have to not just create job places, but to create job places with added value, like hi tech jobs," the Premier stressed.
Azarov noted that for today Ukraine has eight million people of active working age, but still suffers from the lack of labour force.

"We suffer deficit in the construction sector, which is actively developing now. We feel deficit in the machine construction sector. Ukraine has a misbalance between the education and real demands of the economy. Of course these problems did not appear yesterday, but have been accumulating for years. Hence the measures we should take will not show effect in one day," Azarov summed up.
